Religion and Science
It is often said that there is a fundamental conflict between religion and science. Historically, people like Galileo Galilei and Charles Darwin have called into question the role of science in a fundamentally religious society. Even today, school boards struggle with what to teach in the classroom concerning evolution. This learning module will use the Association of Religion Data Archives’ website to examine some empirical data from Americans regarding their opinions on the relationship between religion and science.
The ARDA Lesson Plans integrate content from the ARDA and other sources into teachable units. The lessons are designed for courses in a wide range of disciplines, including history, political science, psychology, religious studies, and sociology. This assignment was created for the Association of Religion Data Archives.Â
