Graduate Presentations at the 9th Biennial Conference

Thank you for your interest in participating in the graduate presentations at the 9th Biennial Conference on Religion and American Culture. Each Biennial, the Center invites advanced graduate students to give mini-presentations (3–4 minutes) describing their research projects and the importance and impact of their work on the field of American religion. Presentations will be held on the opening night of the Biennial Conference on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Applications are now available for the 2026 graduate presentations and will remain open through February 1, 2026. Applicants must be active in the dissertation process to be considered and priority will be given to those who are closer to completion. Proposals must demonstrate a clear connection between religion and American culture within their dissertation topic.

Religion & American Culture: A Journal of Interpretation seeks to publish scholarship that revises or considerably extends our understanding of the relationship between religion and other aspects of American culture. In 300-400 words, summarize your graduate research project and indicate how it revises or extends that understanding.
Participation Agreement(Required)
In order to apply, you must be available to present on your response for 3 minutes and participate in a roundtable discussion on the opening night (June 4) of the conference. In addition, accepted presentations will be published in the conference proceedings.
