Clergy Satisfaction and Vocational Commitment (Jr/Sr High School Module)
How committed are leaders of America’s local congregations to their work and ministry? How satisfied are they with their effectiveness as congregational leaders? What types of problems do they face daily? These are important questions for researchers who study religion. There is widespread concern among church leaders that today’s clergy are at risk of dropping out due to high levels of stress, congregational conflict, and burnout. This learning module will use data from the Association of Religion Data Archives to explore the work satisfaction and job commitment of U.S. congregational leaders.
