Musical Instruments in American Churches
Music has long been an important part of worship services in the United States. The type of music that is played, however, has varied greatly, from churches with large music bands to congregations that sing without any instruments at all. This learning module will explore some of the ways in which Americans integrate musical instruments into their worship services.
The ARDA Lesson Plans integrate content from the ARDA and other sources into teachable units. The lessons are designed for courses in a wide range of disciplines, including history, political science, psychology, religious studies, and sociology. This assignment was created for the Association of Religion Data Archives.
