Clergy Beliefs on Faith, Gender, Sexual Orientation, and Science
Clergy, or religious leaders, are the stewards of their faith traditions. When they lead worship, preach, or interpret sacred texts, clergy uphold their religion’s view of faith, gender, sexual orientation, and science. Yet, these religious leaders are also individuals who have their own beliefs. The goal of this research module is to explore these individual beliefs and see what clergy think about God, faith, gender and sexual orientation, and science. By the end, you should have a deeper understanding of the views of clergy and how leaders from the various religious traditions differ from one another.
