Religious Experience in Everyday Life

Students are often surprised to learn the extent to which survey respondents report religious experiences in their everyday lives. Some categories of religious experiences include miraculous healings, feeling the presence of a deity or otherwise mystical force, visions, near-death experiences, etc. This learning module explores the degree to which different kinds of Americans report having various religious experiences.

The ARDA Lesson Plans integrate content from the ARDA and other sources into teachable units. The lessons are designed for courses in a wide range of disciplines, including history, political science, psychology, religious studies, and sociology. This assignment was created for the Association of Religion Data Archives.
